ABOUT 40 volunteers rendered help to keep a stranded male pygmy killer whale afloat and alive at Tanjung Aru Beach near the City of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. They successfully guided and released it into the sea at 5.10pm Jan 11 2012, after it showed signs of activeness.

Borneopedia has made a probe on the Nomad short take off and landing (STOL) plane that crashed at Sembulan close to Kota Kinabalu International Airport runway on 6 June 1976 known as the Double Six or 666 Tragedy that killed Tun Fuad Stephens and 10 others on board, including the pilot.

THE High Court in Kota Kinabalu has heard a case brought by Tan Sri Harris Salleh against Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) president Datuk Yong Teck Lee and the party for allegedly insinuating that the former was involved in causing the plane crash on June 6, 1976.

ONE of the darkest moments in the aviation history of Borneo was the air crash that occurred in the afternoon of 6th June 1976 often referred to since as the Double Six tragedy. In my opinion, it is more accurate for it to be recorded as a ‘666 tragedy’.

Storm Greg hits Borneo
TROPICAL storm Greg hit the western coast of Sabah in the wee hours of Boxing Day (Dec 26) in 1996 right from Kudat in the north to Tuaran, down to the interior region around Keningau and further to Tenom, killing 238 persons and leaving another 102 reported missing.
